The Innovative Rotoid Engine power by Hydrogen & Gas

A rotary screw combustion engine with different diameters of rotors which are provided with variable pitch helixes. The helix pitch is modified in such way that at the beginning of the rotor there is an area where suction and compression take place, followed by an area for fuel ignition and then followed by the third area where expansion and exhaust take place.

Prototype unit in progress

Czech Government has supported Rotoid Motors with funding to build the first prototype unite to validate the modeled engine power output parameters. We have envolved and selected Czech Technical University in Brno as our collaboration partner. The manufacturing of the engine cores is under its way. We are now desiging the complete unit.

Model verification

In order to validate the engine design, we have used 3D printed version of the key componts. The first unit will use the traditional fuel. However, the adaptation of the engine to use of hydrogen, as combustable source of energy, is coming with the next iteration. The first stage of the engine will compress the gas in order to increase the efficiency of the processs.

Potential applications

Wee see two main potentail application. The highly efficient engine with low weight means that you'll be able to go further on less fuel, which is the important factor for any VTOL plane and other aircrafts. Secondly, the low number of components and variable size would allow to build a small-power combined heat and power unit for residential heating.
